I have an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Cape Town, where I was tutored by the Booker Prize-winning author Damon Galgut. I've had two novels published, one of which was made into a movie. And in 2009 I became the first non-American to win the Plimpton Prize for Fiction. My short stories have appeared in The Paris Review and the PEN/O.Henry Prize Stories.
